GIRLS' HOCKEY WEEKEND - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12 AT LAKEWOOD ICE
The Ducks will participate in the International Ice Hockey Federation's (IIHF) World Girls' Hockey Weekend on Sunday, October 12 at The Rinks - Lakewood ICE. As part of the global IIHF awareness campaign, local participants are encouraged to bring a friend for the one-hour session beginning at 10:50 a.m.

This special Try Hockey for Free Day offers girls the chance to learn to play the game of hockey for free. Participants will receive instruction from Anaheim Lady Ducks coaches and players on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly. Girls will be provided with skates, shoulder and elbow pads, shin guards, a helmet, hockey pants, gloves and a jersey for the one-hour session.

ANAHEIM DUCKS MINI 1-ON-1 TOURNAMENT

JUNIOR DUCKS BANTAM AAA TOURNAMENT WIN
Congratulations to the Junior Ducks Bantam AAA team on taking the Championship in the Canadian BWC Tournament this past weekend. Many of the top teams from Lower Mainland, the Interior and Alberta, Canada as well as the Anaheim Junior Ducks, Dallas Jr. Stars, LA Jr. Kings and Colorado Thunderhawks participated. The Junior Ducks 5-4 victory over OHA in the Finals, made them the first American team to win the BWC Tournament.

GOLDEN WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS
Golden West Championships were held in Ontario over Labor Day weekend.  The premiere event drew competitors from many countries including Japan, Korea, Australia and Ukraine.  Westminster ICE was well represented with Nhi Do winning the Intermediate Ladies Final with 38 entries!  She was also awarded the Les Seale Memorial Trophy for her win. Vanna Giang placed 4th in Novice Ladies Final, her sister Victoria also made the finals.  In Juvenile Boys there 9 entries including a medalist from last years Nationals, Gerald Hsu won 4th place and Thomas Hsu 6th.  All these skaters train every day at Westminster Ice with Doug Chapman and Dianne a DeLeeuw.

MONDAY NIGHT ADULT SKILLS CLINIC
Adult Skills Clinics are back at The Rinks Lakewood ICE on Monday nights! These weekly sessions offer professional instruction from our Rinks Coaching Staff on skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills. The cost is $20 per participant - pay as you skate! ANAHEIM DUCKS LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM
The Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play Program presented by Bauer is back, giving all first-time hockey players the chance to get on the rink (ice or inline) in full hockey equipment for FREE!  Participants receive instruction from The Rinks coaching staff on how to skate properly while implementing some of the basic skills in hockey such as passing, shooting, and stick handling.

The Learn to Play Program is a (4) four week session geared toward participants 10 years old and younger (due to equipment sizes). Each participant is provided with an equipment bag, helmet, shin guards, hockey pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads, gloves, stick and a jersey, which they get to keep during the duration of the session, giving them the opportunity to practice what they have learned between each session. Skate rentals are provided for free at each rink as well. The use of full hockey equipment allows participants to get the feel of skating in full hockey gear, allowing them to experience the sport as a whole without taking on the financial commitment of purchasing all the equipment.
 
Participants who complete the Learn to Play program and continue on to a paid program within The Rinks will receive a FREE, complete set of Mission/Bauer equipment to keep courtesy of Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
