HAPPY 4th OF JULY FROM THE RINKS!
The Rinks Westminster ICE will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Fri, July 3 Sat, July 4 and Sun, July 5, 2015.  The closure will continue the following week as ICE maintenance begins on Mon, July 6.  Normal operational hours and programs will resume on Sat, July 11.  Please check our website and calendars for up to date information.

THE RINKS BANNER COMPETITION!
Over the past month, employees from each of our seven rinks have been working hard designing a banner that best represents their facility. Finally finished,  we now need all of you to help decide which facility will be the winner, earning bragging rights over all the others. Voting is now open, click here to pick your favorite!

WESTMINSTER SCORES BIG AT THE SO CAL INTERCLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Rising star Vanna Giang posted the highest recorded Jr Ladies score in the US this season: 143.16 to win Jr Ladies more than 40 points ahead of her rivals! Other Trophy Winners were: Andie Nguyen 1st place Basic 6, Emelie Luu 1st place Basic 8, Sarah Bendzick 4th High Beginner, Maddie Bendzick 1st place No Test, Pre-Preliminary skaters: Bethanie Luu 3rd place, McKaylin Mangagil and Ashley Nguyen both 4th place.

Juvenile Boys: Gerald Hsu 1st in SP, 3rd in FS. Thomas Hsu 2nd in SP and FS. Nhi Do placed 1st in SP, 2nd in Novice FS. Skaters coached at Westminster Ice by Dianne DeLeeuw and Doug Chapman.

Westminster assistant coach Chelsea Suddock placed 1st in Artistic. Coached by Teri Ballard. Francis Correia, coached by Jim Stuart won Adult Bronze. Westminster skaters in the event: Victoria Giang, Devon Feicht, Ariel Phou, Madeline Tran, Taleah Bozanick, and Andrea Brown. Westminster also represented by coaches Sarah Sherman, Tracy Primrose, Tiffany Chun.



SERTOMA ICE SKATING CAMP
The Sertoma Ice Skating Camp for deaf and hard-of-hearing youth will be held at The Rinks Westminster ICE, August 17-20, 2015.  Click here for camp information and registration.

KING OF THE RINKS 2015
The 2nd Annual King of The Rinks Tournament is returning this summer to The Rinks – Anaheim Ice and The Rinks – Irvine Inline. 

The tournament will feature a minimum of 4 games guaranteed (2 ice, 2 inline) with a 4-on-4 format on both surfaces. The non-checking tournament is open to all skill levels and is designed for players who have played both ice and roller hockey or currently play one and want to try their skills on the other surface for the first time. The championship game will be held as an inline game.

MONDAY NIGHT ADULT SKILLS CLINIC
Adult Skills Clinics are back at The Rinks Lakewood ICE on Monday nights! These weekly sessions offer professional instruction from our Rinks Coaching Staff on skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills. The cost is $20 per participant - pay as you skate! ANAHEIM DUCKS LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM
The Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play Program presented by Bauer is back, giving all first-time hockey players the chance to get on the rink (ice or inline) in full hockey equipment for FREE!  Participants receive instruction from The Rinks coaching staff on how to skate properly while implementing some of the basic skills in hockey such as passing, shooting, and stick handling.

The Learn to Play Program is a (4) four week session geared toward participants 10 years old and younger (due to equipment sizes). Each participant is provided with an equipment bag, helmet, shin guards, hockey pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads, gloves, stick and a jersey, which they get to keep during the duration of the session, giving them the opportunity to practice what they have learned between each session. Skate rentals are provided for free at each rink as well. The use of full hockey equipment allows participants to get the feel of skating in full hockey gear, allowing them to experience the sport as a whole without taking on the financial commitment of purchasing all the equipment.
 
Participants who complete the Learn to Play program and continue on to a paid program within The Rinks will receive a FREE, complete set of Mission/Bauer equipment to keep courtesy of Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
